Despite all of the turmoil that’s been around in the last few years, the number of first time buyers hit a 12 year high in 20181, thanks largely to schemes like Help to Buy. Of the almost half a million completions made using one or more of the Help to Buy schemes since its introduction in 2013, nearly 90% of them have been by first time buyers2.

As one of the first specialist lenders to enter the Help to Buy market, we remain as firmly committed to the scheme as we were when we started supporting applications three years ago. Our criteria is designed to give your customer a better chance of realising their dream, even if they’ve been declined by a high street lender.

  • Customers with less than perfect credit histories considered, including CCJs, defaults, DMPs and missed payments
  • Non-repayable family gifted deposits accepted
  • Self-employed customers with 1 year’s accounts or Tax Overview with either SA302 or HMRC tax calculation
  • Offers valid for up to 6 months from the date of valuation, but can be reviewed and extended for up to an extra 3 months if completion date slips due to circumstances outside your control
  • Help to Buy Scotland available
  • Remortgage products available for properties originally purchased under any Help to Buy scheme

It’s all backed up by a dedicated Priority Processing Team which is dedicated to assessing cases within 48 hours and making offers within 21 days, as well as providing support and regular progress updates. To give you even more of a helping hand, we calculate affordability based on 1.75% of the equity loan.
