Claire – Social Media Marketing Executive
It’s difficult to imagine a world without social media.
In less than 20 years, it’s revolutionised the way we communicate with each other, giving us the opportunity to connect with people all over the world in a simple and fast way.
According to the latest research, we spend an average of almost two-and-a-half hours every day looking at social media1 and the number of people using social media is predicted to increase to 3.43 billion people by 2023 – that’s almost half the world’s population2.
If, like me, you enjoy spending time talking with your friends on Facebook, scrolling through trending topics on Twitter and keeping up-to-date with your professional community on LinkedIn, it’s worth remembering that a lot of your customers are doing exactly the same.
Today is World Social Media Day and to mark the event I’d like to share five easy-to-use tools which could boost your business and help you reach more customers.
- Organising your campaigns
Tools such as
Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Buffer allow you to schedule all your social media activity in one place, helping you to plan ahead and engage with your customers.
- Pick the perfect picture
Unsplash is a site full of completely free photographs just waiting to brighten up your social media posts. Simply enter the type of image you want and choose from thousands of options.
- Stand out from the crowd
If you’re looking to create eye-catching social media artwork, Canva lets you design engaging content which can help get your posts noticed. Templates are pre-generated to the correct size for each platform and the possibilities are endless when it comes to using different imagery, styles and formats. If you’d like to make your posts even more appealing, Animoto is a simple tool which lets you drag and drop photos and videos right into your posts to create professional looking video slideshows.
- It’s all about the hashtag
If you like to use hashtags to drive content further and create topical discussions, then try Hashtagify. It’s a great tool that lets you search for the top hashtags on Twitter and provides suggestions for your own posts to help you target the hot topics and accelerate your marketing.
- Analyse, analyse, analyse
Each social media platform has its own analytics tool showing you which posts are working and which ones aren’t performing so well, how effectively you’re engaging with your followers and ways to improve your social media strategy going forward.
Don’t forget to follow our daily posts on Twitter (@Precise_Mtgs) and LinkedIn (search for ‘Precise Mortgages’) for handy hints and tips to help you place your cases, insight into our Sales Team, up-to-date posts about the latest product developments, and much more.
